"Are You Going to Eat That?"—a whimsical new piece at Artbygeneblackburn where the Old Man of the Forest, a grand ancient tree, looks appalled as a mischievous Gnome prepares to dine on vegetables while seated at a mushroom and resting on his roots. This joyful and playful artwork perfectly captures the expressive charm and imaginative spirit that define Gene Blackburn’s unique artistic vision.

The recent project "Mountain Blanket" beautifully captures a quintessential Pacific Northwest scene, with clouds blanketing hillsides and trees as a river winds through the mountains. Created at the request of Gene Blackburn’s daughter, Gena, this evocative painting will be auctioned to support Camp Two Roads, a cause close to their family’s heart.

The "Coffee Gnome" project at Art by Gene Blackburn is inspired by a small gnome figurine owned by my wife and a show featuring homes built in the woods from natural materials, combining whimsical charm with rustic creativity. This piece reflects my artistic approach of blending personal stories and nature-inspired themes to create unique, meaningful artwork.

"The Magic Forest" is a captivating piece painted on black canvas, inspired by the artist’s daughter (Ariel) and her passion for foraging in the woods of the Northwest. This work beautifully captures sunlight filtering through the dense forest, unveiling its hidden natural treasures with a blend of personal connection and artistic depth.

Art by Gene Blackburn presents "Sugarpine," a unique restaurant in Troutdale near the Sandy River, once a gas station, now a soulful culinary haven where the food is truly art. This project is especially meaningful as my daughter Ariel works there alongside a wonderful, family-like staff, and I gifted the original artwork to the owners to celebrate their inspiring spirit.

Gene Blackburn presents "Weathering Time," a compelling piece inspired by the serene early mornings along the Umpqua River, where the chill of heavy dew embraces the hillsides and a timeless barn stands resilient against Oregon’s ever-changing weather. This work captures the essence of endurance and natural beauty, embodying the artist’s dedication to showcasing moments of quiet strength through his portfolio.

"Lupus, Lobo, Wolf of the Woods" showcases Gene Blackburn’s deep connection to the Northwest, capturing the noble wolf as it traverses the chilly Mount Hood National Forest, reflecting both the region’s natural beauty and the return of this majestic animal. This painting exemplifies Blackburn’s dedication to portraying wildlife with authenticity and emotional depth, inviting art lovers to experience the wilderness through his unique perspective.
